Transport for NSW has an exciting opportunity for dedicated Road Maintenance Workers to join our team on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. You will be instrumental in maintaining the safety and integrity of the NSW road network, working across various locations to ensure high-quality infrastructure for the community.
What you'll be doing
- Road Material Handling and Repair:Spreading, levelling, and compacting various road materials. Patching asphalt and performing repairs to existing pavement structures.
- Operating Equipment and Vehicles:Operating a range of heavy machinery, which may include rollers, pavers, and excavators.
- Site and Roadside Management:Implementing and managing traffic control zones to ensure the safety of the public and the work crew.
What you need
- Must be physically fit and capable of safely lifting 25kg+ and performing sustained manual labour.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
- Must have a White Card: Current Safework general construction induction card.
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to site safety.
Desirable
- HR License (Heavy Rigid): Possession of this license may open up opportunities for truck driving roles within TfNSW later on.
- Plant Operator License/Tickets: Relevant experience and licensing for operating heavy machinery (e.g., rollers, excavators).
